Reformer Pilates, being an incredibly effective tool in fitness, is the foundation of the studio. Often combined with other tools and equipment, it provides a fusion of workouts not found in other gym programs.

the method

Our method of Pilates is based on Stott philosophy, offering intelligent exercise with profound results. Stott Pilates is based on the essence and principles originated by Joseph Pilates, while incorporating modern knowledge of fitness. The aim of the programming is to build optimal muscular performance-strength, flexibility and endurance-without risking injury or adding bulk. Focusing on core strength and stability, this method of Pilates also helps restore the natural curve of the spine, relieve tension and enhance self-confidence. THE RESULT: A body in balance that looks FIT, feels REVITALIZED, and moves with EASE.

EARN

your level

Each participant must experience at least one private (complimentary and introductory) session before joining group classes. Reformers are unlike any other piece of equipment and having that private session is imperative for a positive future group experience. When moving into group classes, everyone starts at the ESSENTIAL level. Pilates combines specific exercises with choreography, each level building upon the last. Levels intensify from ESSENTIAL, to PROGRESSION, to ADVANCED. As experience, knowledge, strength and skill grow, the opportunity to advance levels comes through booking a TUNE UP/ TEST OUT session (included with memberships, please see membership details). This is a short and sweet session, privately booked with an instructor to receive feedback, hopefully leading to a “THUMBS UP” to move on. If a participant is not quite ready, they’ll be given a list of things to work on, giving them proper direction and feedback. Always given with love, these suggestions would be skills necessary to master to move safely to the next level of classes.

in your practice

This practice meets each and every participant exactly where they are. We want everyone to enjoy the studio and THRIVE here. And while Pilates is literally for EVERY BODY, group classes might not be. Group classes keep a certain pace and are pre-choreographed (with some carefully placed improv) for the bodies in that class. Returning from an injury or maybe haven’t moved your body in a while? Don’t sweat it… we have a solution for you. Talk with your instructor on how best to make Pilates a part of your life. We offer private sessions, duets, trios, group classes and in-house workshops.
